We're taking a different approach to our worker cooperative socials in 2024. We're planning to have three socials during the year, and we'll be varying the day and time so more people can attend.
The first is at Starkweather Brewing on Saturday, February 3rd, at 5pm after our Annual Meeting (you don't have to attend the annual meeting to come to the social!). Starkweather Brewing has a food menu as well as drinks, and is accessible by bus, bike, walking, and car.
Our second social of 2024 will be on Thursday, May 23rd, from 6pm-8pm, at Herbiery (2015 Winnebago St). They serve some food and allow carry-ins. Weather permitting, we will be on their patio. MadWorc will provide snacks for all and a free drink ticket for the first 12 attendees. Herbiery is a queer-owned and operated brewery and taproom that specializes in herbal, hop-free beer and craft mocktails
The last one will be a Co-op Month celebration in October.
We'll send out dates and times as soon as possible so you can get them in your calendar.
Our socials are open to anyone interested in worker cooperatives -- current worker owners, people interested in starting cooperatives, people who want to support worker cooperatives. Sometimes people will break into small conversation, sometimes we'll have a larger group conversation, it all depends on who is there and what folks want to talk about.
